About this tour

Sri Lanka is a paradise of unlimited sun, sea, sand and surf all year round. Sri Lanka is  never out of season for a beach holiday. There is always some part of the beach that has friendly and warm waters.

Some of the delights of a Sri Lankan beach. Where beaches are concerned you will bespoilt for choice in Sri Lanka. Beaches totalling 1,340km fringe the island, from the long-established tourist destinations of the southern coast, to the vast beaches of the deep south.  No matter what time of the year, you can find a beach that is in season and just waiting to welcome you to its warm sands.

Sometimes the colour of the ocean changes from its recognizable turquoise to a bottle green and navy blue, depending on the intensity of the clouds above. When the sunshine breaks out, azure tones appear as the angry clouds chase over the sea making it a patchwork quilt of colour. In season, though, the sea is bright blue and crystal clear

Itinerary

Warmly meet and great at the airport and proceed to Negombo. Check in at your specified beach hotel and spend the day at full leisure at the beach

Negombo Beach was Sri Lanka's first beach resort and is not only an ideal place to start or end your holiday in Sri Lanka. Conveniently located only 15 km from Sri Lanka's International Airport, Negombo offers wide beaches. In Negombo you find some of the best dream spots for wake-boarding, wake surfing and wake skating.Regardless of the time of the day you always get the most perfect conditions.

Snorkelling can open up an entire new world of colour and magic. The exotic underworld environment off the shores of Negombo will introduce  you  to the stunning variety of underwater life including coral reefs, rare fish and unusual plant life.

Beaches and coastal resorts are plentiful along the coast in the Negombo area. It’s a good idea to swim in designated areas to avoid the undertows that are prevalent in some spots. If you’re concerned about safety, particularly with younger children, there are lots of hotel swimming pools to choose from.

After breakfast cruise to the sea to see Dolphins & Whales

The tropical conditions of the Indian Ocean make it so rich in aquatic life and are the habitat to hundreds of thousands of varied sea dwelling species.

Many great Whales of different species are sighted not so far away from the shores of Sri Lanka and the opportunity of sighting them whilst in Sri Lanka is just something to be seized. They are often seen as singles or pairs but there are occasions where they are with calf.

Dolphin Watching is also a very popular event and unlike Whales, they are seen in large shoals. Often they are more than hundred in number and is one of the most exciting experiences one could have. Dolphin being the most friendly and intelligent sea dweller that does not shy away from man, often tries to make friends with the watcher.

Mirissa and its breathtaking sandy beach pretty much transforms your dreams and visions of a tropical paradise into an everyday reality.

Located close to the Southern tip of the Island of Sri Lanka and only about 200 km from the Equator, this secluded crescent shaped beach is the perfect place to sit back, relax and forget about all the hussle and bussle of your other life that’s a million miles away. This small sandy tropical beach boasts some of Sri Lanka’s best and most stunning sunsets and sunrises.

The shoreline is blanketed with coconut trees and all the buildings and the places to stay in Mirissa are set back from the shore giving you the feeling that you are on a totally deserted beach somewhere .

The shoreline of Mirissa beach gracefully slides into the ocean and there is no dangerous shelving making it a great place to bring kids and to leave them alone without too much worry. You can walk out into the water for about 20 meters before the water becomes waist deep

After Breakfast proceed for Whale Watching

Sri Lanka is great location for whale watching. Whales can be sighted not far form the south coast of Sri Lanka.

After Breakfast proceed to Hikkaduwa

The beach party atmosphere of Hikkaduwa created by the surfing & diving scene. Beautiful white sand beaches, colorful coral reefs and an excellent surf are attracting people from all over the world.

Beach restaurants and bars, shops and nightclubs are providing the background for a carefree stay. The surfing in the Hikkaduwa region is quite well known and gets the best surf during its dry season,

The Coral Garden here is considered to be the best out of all such coral gardens found in Asia. There is a reef of lime stones running parallel to the coast. The corals are in between this line of lime stones and the coast. The sea up to about 200 m from the coast is very shallow. The reef of lime stones protects the corals from high tide. The coral type found mostly here is the type locally called ‘Gampara’. These corals are found in various forms , shapes and colours. They are a very fascinating sight especially when there is bright sunlight which gives a very clearer view of the corals. You see some corals in the shape of a cabbage leaf; some are like a lady’s fan. Since there is no silt, corals can grow in their natural form and colour.

After breakfast proceed to Bentota

Facing the Indian Ocean, a tropical lagoon and a major river Bentota offers water sports possibilities nowhere else to be found. Apart from swimming, body-surfing or diving in the sea, you can jet-ski, windsurf, parasail or enjoy a romantic river safari on the river and lagoon. Bentota also delivers an ancient art of healing called Ayurveda

Especially for families Bentota is a well sought after destination. Safe swimming conditions combined with fun water sport and exciting excursions are providing for the ideal background for a relaxed holiday in Sri Lanka. Bentota is also known for its professional touristic infrastructure. The many 5 star hotels are build in fantastic locations.

The Maadu river offers very popular boat trips down the river where you can arrange to visit temples, cinnamon estates  and other nature resorts. This area is a preserved wild life sanctuary.

Visit a Turtle hatchery in the afternoon. Touch and feel the turtles. If you are lucky you can see the turtles hatching out of their eggs.

After Breakfast: proceed to Kaluthara

Kaluthara is one of the best beaches in the World. It has very relaxing atmosphere.  It is perfect location to relax couple of day at the beach.

Just over 40km from Colombo, bustling Kalutara is the first beach resort we reach traveling south of Colombo. Kalutara has a huge stretch of fine sand with Wadduwa to the north which is home to the area's top resorts.

The appearance of roadside stalls selling coir rugs, basketware & reed mats signals the entry into Kalutara. As if the tell-tale signs wouldn't do, Kalutara heralds its presence with nothing less than the immense white gleaming dagoba of the Gangatilaka Vihara, immediately south of the long double-span bridge across the Kalu Ganga (River Black).

Kalutara itself divides into Mahawaskaduwa (Kalutata North) where the beach is more scenic, right down to Katukurunda (Kalutata South) It's one of the west coast's largest settlements, but the long stretch of beach north of town remains reasonably unspoilt, dotted with a string of top-end hotels which make a decent first or last stop on a tour of the island, in view of the town's proximity to the international airport.
